Human Rights Program
Believing that human rights are inherent to all individuals, regardless of any consideration, and that everyone is entitled to enjoy these rights equally and without discrimination, the Global Organization for Civil Society Advancement (GLOCA) recognizes that all human rights are interdependent, synergistic, and indivisible.
In its pursuit to promote human rights and support civil society participation in Northwest Syria, GLOCA has launched the Human Rights Program, accompanied by the development of an innovative digital system aimed at facilitating the monitoring, documentation, and analysis of human rights violations in the region.
This system seeks to provide an integrated platform that combines advanced technology with local needs, ensuring comprehensive and accurate documentation of violations. It further aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and the efficiency of actors working in the field of human rights.
Program Objectives
  • Developing a comprehensive system to monitor and document human rights violations, improving data efficiency and transparency.
  • Raising awareness of human rights and providing the necessary knowledge to prevent violations.
  • Amplifying the voices of victims, including those subjected to arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance, and supporting the families of the missing in their pursuit of justice.
  • Empowering women by advocating for their equitable role in society and politics, and ensuring a safe and inclusive space for their participation.
  • Combating discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, or religion, and promoting a culture of respect and equality.
  • Protecting human rights in urban settings, including housing, land, and property rights.
  • Enhancing accountability and holding perpetrators responsible.
  • Integrating human rights issues into youth programs and empowering them to advocate for human rights and social justice.
  • Contributing to social and economic recovery by focusing on rights-based community rebuilding, which fosters resilience and long-term stability.
